These handprint ornaments are so special. That said, this double handprint ornament is VERY heavy so needs a sturdy branch. It took multiple days to be sure they were completely dry and they are EXTREMELY fragile. I made 4 handprints of each of my 2 grandchildren and 2 of each broke before we finished. I painted them with metallic silver acrylic and wrote names with gold metallic sharpie. There was not enough size difference between the hands for me to put the name on each so I wrote both their names & the year on the smaller hand.

So so so so cute!!! Do these come out lighter as opposed to salt dough. I need to do 3 handprints and I love the stacking element. So hoping they are on the lighter side??? What do you think?

An easier way to get a handprint is have the kids put their hand on a copier. Then cut out the hand for your pattern

I love the idea. However it seems the part of the instructions to write the name was left off. At which point do you do this and what do you use to write the names?
