My 3-year-old was fixated on a wooden doll’s crib she saw in a store and wouldn’t stop talking about it. This is a nice alternative with boxes that we always have on hand.

It depends on how sharp they are but I think scissors will be more difficult to use on cardboard than a knife. It’s also harder to cut straight lines with them. But if you don’t have anything else, they’re better than nothing! I would try on a scrap and see how it feels 🙂
